Olympic Rings

While I was away, London decorated its boroughs with Olympic paraphernalia, including these rings on Tower Bridge. There are some banners on the lamp-posts of West Norwood, too. I spotted the same banners in Glasgow yesterday evening.

The sleeper from Glasgow reached Euston bang on time so no landslips or engineering work held up the train. I'm amazed at the sleeper - it always manages to get to its destination without complaining too much. Hooray for the night train!

It's nice to be home. The pets are all fine and the sun even came out for us for a bit. Fred and I headed into London for a walk and visited the outdoor shops in Covent Garden to pick up a Trangia. Fred's been after one since last week in Barra when he chatted to a fellow cycle tourer who demonstrated the cooking kit and caused much jealousy amongst us gas-stove campers. We're also searching for a new tent since our North Face doesn't deal with constant rain particularly well. It's not bad, but there's a better one out there.
