Rain stops play.

Enough food to feed far more than the thirteen we expected for dinner. Every road into the village is flooded, when the moor roads are closed we know it must be bad.

Son and family have heard the sirens warning them of flooding by the River Calder and l've just seen the the devastating photographs of Hebden Bridge and surrounding towns and villages. Daughter and her family can't get through either and they only live three miles away.

So l'm packing away the pavlova and 24 mince pies, freezing the soup. Still cooking the turkey and roast ham. Things look better for tomorrow, so we may do it then. Our disappointment is nothing compared to those really affected by having their homes and businesses flooded, my heart really goes out to them.

So l'm blipping this lovely festive flower arrangement that l bought in the reduced section at the supermarket for the princely sum of £1.99, and l've had them a week already!
