Scotland- in the rain

Very dreich, rainy day so walking, the traditional Boxing Day activity, was out of the question.

As for a tour of the sales I thought a visit to our local shopping mall in Stirling would hardly match the glamour and glitz of Shanghai for our two Chinese students, Sherry (left) and Zoey.

As for Stirling castle that looked like a bleak attraction in the pouring rain.

Instead we opted for a tour of Stirling university campus, considered to be one of the most beautiful in Europe though today it looked like a very ordinary 1960s concrete and glass campus. The Macrobert arts centre proved a popular “pit stop” for morning coffee.

After that it was up to Dunblane Hydro for a spot of Victorian style architecture and late lunch.

Sherry and Zoey are studying for a M.Sc. in environmental engineering at Imperial College London.  We were curious to know what that meant. Well,aa its pollution- and how to combat it.
