brazil and other stories

unorthodox christmas #2

today we decided to trek across the city to visit the newly opened museu do amanhã (museum of tomorrow) - designed by architect santiago calatrava, whose work we loved exploring in valencia, spain's city of arts and sciences.

unfortunately half of rio had the same idea, and we didn't fancy joining the hundreds queuing in 40+ degree heat, so we took a few photos of the building and then headed to the neighbouring art of rio museum. there, we enjoyed two fantastic exhibitions of work from photographers kurt klagsbrunn and evandro teixeira, who both captured life in the city in the twentieth century.
