The Early Bird on the Humber shore

A passing jogger told me this is a Sandpiper, and it had a lot of success digging up lugworms! 
It was a beautiful morning for a cycle ride along the embankment, and there were very few people about a 9:00 AM
I just looked it up on Google and it looks more like a Curlew to me!
