What A Difference A Day Made

Yesterday's non stop torrential rain has given way today to a beautiful clear, colder and clearer blue sky day.
First thing, we went over to Cockermouth to meet Trevorearthy and Biblinros, blippers whose home was flooded a few weeks ago. We had a walk round the town and saw where the water had reached and then went to see their house which has been cleared out and stripped back to bare walls and now has to dry out for several weeks. They are remarkably cheerful and philosophical under the circumstances.
We had a bite to eat with them at Merienda in Cockermouth, and then went over to Buttermere for a walk round the lake in the fading light. It's beautiful in any light and any weather and was a joy to see after all the recent gloominess.
This little tree is a bit of a Buttermere landmark. I enjoyed playing with my new grad filters.
