Unveiled

The local branch of Barclays bank has been swathed in ugly plastic sheeting for the last few months. As I went past today the last of the scaffolding was being removed and I realised that this really is rather a handsome building. The fresh paint work obviously helps bring out the best in it and it's good to see that the new replacement windows have been chosen to blend in with the original style. I assume this building dates from around the 1930s and it is just so much more elegant than the bland redbrick supermarket next door.
