Wound up in Wexford

Father Christmas?

Wall to wall blue sky when we got up today.  We had a lazy start, but then decided we should stir ourselves and have a walk around Taroudannt.  Apart from any other considerations, we needed to buy some money.

We almost immediately got lost, and decided that if we just kept walking in one direction, we would find the walls of the Medina, and then we would be able to work out where we were.  Fine idea, trouble is, the gate we found wasn't on the map we had been given by the hotel!  With help, we did manage to orient ourselves, and find our way back to a main street, but not before some youth on a bike decided it would be a good idea to pinch my bum - no-one has ever done that before, and he was MUCH too young!

Having found a bank to change money, we sat in the main square, which was remarkably "untouristy", enjoying a meal in a cafe which was typically Moroccan - no menu, just "I'll tell you what we have" by the proprietor.  And across the square we noticed Father Christmas and a Christmas tree - someone did mention a few days ago that we WOULDN'T be able to get away from the C word!

Across the street from this shop, the decorative door you can see is the main entrance to a Mosque.  And behind was the Souk.

After eating - the whole meal coming to about £5 - we had a wander through the Souk, but managed to resist the attempts of many of the traders to get us to buy stuff we neither want nor need.  And then we managed to find our way back to our hotel without getting lost again.
