Snowman

An exciting day indeed!  Very wild, horrendous gales but we ventured into town to meet up with blipper Ogatodomar, who is over from Belgium, visiting his Orcadian relations.  Lovely to actually meet up with him, to see face to face, someone whom you have only known through their photos and comments.  We sat and chatted over coffee and filled in the gaps between the blips. 

Time to head home and the weather had taken a real turn for the worse.  The Churchill Barriers were closed, the police, coastguard and council were there with flashing blue lights, stopping folk crossing because of the waves crashing over them.  We waited a while but then decided to head back to town, have something to eat, and indulge in a little coat shopping!  Well, one has to pass the time somehow!  Spotted this poor little abandoned snowman on the shop windowsill . . . 

After another wait, hangman and eye spy to pass the time this time, the barriers were finally opened not long after 5pm.  A long day but we had Ollie with us, so we didn't have anything to worry about at home, so we just enjoyed it!
