The Great Escape

It turned out to be a sunny day, so we decided to go out for a drive. We came across these Highland Cattle near Ythanwells, and were so impressed by the sunlight gleaming through their coats (as well as their general cuteness!) that we stopped the car and headed back on foot to take some photographs. Unfortunately, the cattle clearly didn't appreciate our good intentions, and took off at quite a pace - which they kept up for some distance as they headed off into the wide open landscape like a herd of buffalo!

Today's 'extra' was taken on the way, at Jackstown, between Oldmeldrum and Cross of Jackston, looking across an impressive field of winter wheat to the silhouette of Bennachie behind the row of trees on the horizon.
