Wound up in Wexford

Cooking lesson

Today we had a lesson in Moroccan cooking.  W learnt how to cook couscous the Moroccan way - a much more complicated and lengthy process than just chucking hot water onto it.  And I made a kefta (meat balls) tagine - which was simpler than I realised it would be.

It has stimulated me to say that we should definitely by a tagine dish to take home with us.  La Maison Anglaise, where we are staying, have a cookbook we can buy.  But I suspect we will want to make some changes.  The Moroccans tend to cook their veggies for longer than we would - and I think we would add even more of the various spices.

Other than the cooking, we had quite a lazy day today - we walked around Taroudannt, and we DIDN'T get lost once.

We enjoyed our dinner all the more for having at least had some part in cooking it.  And we sat for a good while after chatting to the only other residents tonight - two young Dutch women who are delightful company.
