My Year

Sempervivum - (Houseleek)

Out in the garden this morning trimming the lawn edges in the hope that it will dry up enough to cut the grass this afternoon.

Unlike last year, when our lawn looked quite brown by now, this year it's lush green and growing like mad. Might be something to do with the 10-8-11 fertilizer I've been throwing at it, as well as all the wet weather.

Because of the downpour last night everything is heavy with moisture, but it really seems to bring out the perfume in plants. The roses smell wonderfully fragrant.

The plant in the blip is Sempervivum, a rockery plant, which thrives in any nook or cranny. I like them because they look prehistoric to me, as well as having pretty flowers.
