Horsing Around on New Year's Day

Happy New Year everyone!

Today, Mario and I went away for the day. Fist stop was to photograph this beautiful horse, just out of Pleasant Point. Then on to Fairlie where we got petrol. We called in at Lake Tekapo, where I photographed the newly completed foot bridge that crosses the canal by the lake. We had a delicious lunch at Twizel, then we headed to Otematata (where it was 31 degrees celsius).

We saw so many people today, camping, swimming, boating, fishing etc, it was like mini towns everywhere! It reminded me of my childhood when we would go on holiday in the caravan, to Queenstown and Roxburgh, and we'd spend the day by the water swimming and picnicking.
