Lisa's life...

#PledgeBlipfoto

So here we are, the first day of 2016. What will the year hold for me? What will the year hold for you? What will the year hold for Blipfoto?

Most of you will know by now that the future of this site remains uncertain. A brilliant group of people are doing their best to make sure there is a blip future. Hence, Blipfuture was born. Find out more about how you can be part of the future of blipping, if you haven't already, by visiting the crowd funding site here :)

Although it's been made very clear, I don't think everyone quite understands that a pledge is just that. No money will disappear from your bank account unless the crowdfunding deal completes. If it doesn't...nothing monetary changes for you but we may lose Blipfoto.com.

Why does it matter to me?

Hard to explain. Yes, I have a Flickr account and Facebook and my blog etc to share my photos. But, nothing has come close to making me feel part of something. That won't matter to a lot of you but as a naturally introverted and shy person, this feeling of community is precious to me. Of course, you can't know everybody, of course, you can't get along with everybody you come across, you're not going to like everyone else's photographs, you're not going to comprehend the point of some journals (the daily unmade bed springs to mind!) but, all of our journals mean something to us.

Another thing I have taken note of is that of all the online communities I belong too, this is the place that when they spill into real life, there have been nothing but positives. Each, and there are only a few so far, of you that I have had the pleasure of meeting face to face, has been as warm and friendly as I had hoped. I would like to think there will be more of that warmth and friendship as we head towards the future.

No one said an unkind word while I struggled with illness or lack of motivation; no one has been anything but encouraging. Support here has been amazing through all of Stella's trials and tribulations too and it's a real comfort knowing I can either post a phone snapshot or a composed photograph with a few, or with many, words, and know they will be received with the same community spirit I've grown to love.

In short; if Blipfoto were a town, I'd want to live there :)

Blipfoto, to me, means memories and I'd love to share the new ones with you lot too.

Thanks to one and all, whether just passing through on a #PledgeBlipfoto journey or whether you're one of my 'regulars', it's been a blast, let's keep going.

Oh and happy new year of course! :) xox

Speaking of the blog, there are no resolutions as such but a few things I'd like to get done this year...what are your plans?
