Gillipaw's Journal

By Gillipaw

Auchindrain Township, Argyll

The most complete and well-preserved example of a Scottish Highland farm township.  About six miles south of Inveraray, near the village of Furnace.

We wandered around the restored longhouses, byres, stables and got a glimpse of what life used to be like here.  Some of the rooms had old furnishings, household items, bed warmers, old sinks and taps.

We then drove south for another walk up Crarae Glen.  Beautiful lilies, hydrangeas and roses in bloom. The waterfall was gushing down the hillside.

Dinner at The George in Inveraray.  Always good food on the menu. Recommended.

(Cilla Black died today, very sad.)
