Great Scott!

Spotted this De Lorean at lunch time today - not only is it a De Lorean (which is cool enough in itself), but it also has the full suite of "Back to the Future" mods - up to and including a Flux Capacitor inside and blender on the boot! Our guess was that, owing to the proximity of a number of investment-y type places, some merchant banker type has hired it for the day in the hope of travelling back in time to cash in his share options before the whole credit crisis hit. Although with all the tram works going on in the centre of Edinburgh at the moment, he's going to have his work cut out just trying to find a suitable stretch of road to get up to the magic 88mph.

It was quite a surreal sight to see in the middle of St Andrew Square on a Thursday lunch time, and was especially strange due to the fact that we were just discussing them in the office a matter of days ago. A colleauge had mentioned that he was looking to buy a new car, and I had said he should get a De Lorean. Obviously, this prompted us to scour eBay in the hopes of finding one up for sale. We managed to find one - mint condition with only 3000 miles on the clock, however it was a bog standard model (sans BttF mods), and hence was not worth the £16,500 price tag.

I'm just keeping my eyes peeled for the hoverboards!
