Purple patch

A rather wet day so didn't go far - Ness Point at Lowestoft to be precise. Managed to catch a dry patch in the day to find at least 11 purple sandpiper and similar numbers of turnstone on the sea defence rocks. Out at sea 3 support vessels were waiting for the pilot to bring on into port at Lowestoft. A variety of gulls were in their wake plus a couple of gannet. I was assured that 2 red breasted merganser were flying out in the distance and a small flock of common scoter headed south skimming the waves. Both life ticks for me. A heavy shower forced us back to the car but not a bad count for an hour or so.
