Elegaic divinty.

This serendipitously came my way today and knocked me for six.

Tennyson - "Crossing the Bar"

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea.

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
  Turns again home!

Twilight and evening bell,
  And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
  When I embark;

For though from out our bourn of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.

The "divinity" in my title refers both to the mesmeric beauty of the song here (it had me utterly, utterly rapt for the 4.41 it played on BBC 6Music) and the noble melancholia and serenity of a man towards the end of his life.
I'm so glad I found this. Some things take longer, but they do get found.
Today was a good day because it proves that stunning beauty like this can just come on a conveyor belt if you keep the ears, the eyes and the mind open.
