Early Dinner at Sckavone's

We spent the day catching up on being cabin bound for two days, from the snow and ice storm that hit Portland. We had planned to take off four days for our anniversary, 1-1-1, and just smiled knowing that we did not have to venture out on intensely icy roads.

Sckavone's is an early 20th century drug store that I have yet to determine the age for. The soda fountain styled seating is still there, as it is implied in this picture. For the locals, it is at Division and 41st.
There are a few dozen vintage pictures on the walls which "always" get my attention, no matter what the establishment. This picture shows Sckavone serving up ice cream to the local baseball team. Today I had a Manhattan and Layne had a glass of Malbec wine with our dinner.
Upon doing a tad of research I did discover that Sckavone was highly responsible for bringing the first adult baseball field to Portland, and it still exists today.
