In too deep

The Lagan is still something of a raging torrent after all the recent rain and has burst its banks in a few places near us. The towpath was impassable on one stretch of my regular dog-walking circuit this morning, which at least gave me an excuse to turn back early.

That turned out to be a good thing as old granny dog was having one of her uncooperative days. She point blank refused to walk up one set of steps, causing us to have to detour up a hill instead. And then she kept stopping on the hill. She's getting too old and bockety for long walks, particularly in the cold.

Looks like it'll just be daft dog and me on the walk tomorrow.
