Station sunrise

Moving on today. It was dark when we first got up - as the extra shows. We have a nasty tendency to get to stations ridiculously early for our trains, and today was no exception. The complexities of the day's travel were compounded by the fact that there were no mid morning trains from Toledo to Madrid today, it being Epiphany or Three Kings and a public holiday, and so we ended up with a 3 hour layover in Madrid. That said, at least what we thought was a change of trains in Barcelona didn't transpire - our train from Madrid was going right through to Marseilles. On the other hand, we did have to change carriages as we had two separate tickets from Madrid to Barcelona, and from Barcelona to Perpignan.

So, to Perpignan - our last substantive stop. Too late to take any photographs or go for a wander today. A fair hotel. And decent scoff (excellent pizzas) at an Italian recommended by the man who runs the hotel.
