Deep frozen roses.

This can't be right, roses and frost just don't go together...but this winter has been so topsy turvy There is a strange mixture of flowers about. Daffodils in bloom all around and the Magnolia tree with its buds beginning to open...Oh dear. I think the birds might have a hard time this spring as everything out of kilter, If the blossom isn't there for the insects then the insects won't be there for the birds, difficult.
I wrote this little poem about holly, never thought it would apply to a rose

Frost,

Midwinter night.
The sharp, cold air trails icy fingers across the holly bush,
to trace the outline of each spiked leaf
with explosions of tiny stars.
Blossoming crystals, encrusting every waxy edge.
So, when the slanting lances of the morning sun pierce the dawn,
all are transformed,
into a million,
sparkling
diamonds.
