Beneath Biscay

Respite from the rain

Well the rain eased off briefly this evening and there was a nice sunset, although we were in a bit of a hurry so not much time to get creative.

We were off to try a bar (not the one in the photo) which had been recommended by friends. It is in the premises that were originally used as a brewery by the local brewer Estrella Galicia. As lager type beers go it's not bad. Tastier than San Miguel and Mahou.

Although the premises were very nicely decorated, with lots of copper barrels and a big copper brewing kettle, and nice brewing themed ceramic scenes on the walls, there was virtually no choice of beer, just the standard Estrella or a slightly stronger version and the alcohol free version. Furthermore there were no tapas on offer unlike virtually any other bar. There was no sign of any wine or spirits either.

So for an evening of getting lots of lager down your neck while enjoying the interior design, it's very good, and worth a visit, but we didn't stay for a second round.
