Press gang

I was very fortunate this morning to be part of a small group at work to be tutored in the ways of press photography by professional photographer Andy Ford.

Increasingly the newspapers are cutting back on professional press photography and the picture content of our papers is reliant on the organisation sending the press release. While the technology for taking photos is now very cheap, the ability to make a certificate giving ceremony or (in this case) a cut the ribbon photo opp interesting is a real skill.

Andy was a great tutor. This probably isn't the best press pic but I think it captures a moment when Andy (on the right) was explaining something to us and Richard Greenwood (fellow designer on left) was pulling one of his trademark worried faces. There's always good banter between these two, they're a classic double act.
