My lucky blip day

Today was a very wet day, even by the extraordinary standards of this summer, so I couldn't summon the enthusiasm for a lunchtime walk.

The forecast was set for rain all day. I was beginning to wonder what I could do for a blip when I took a look out the kitchen window and was delighted to see several long-tailed tits visiting the fat ball feeder in the garden.

We used to see them quite often in the garden, but only once so far this year. It was a very timely appearance from them. The poor things looked very bedraggled.

I am quite pleased with this photo given that it was taken through a rain-soaked window.
