Quoich Dam

It seems bizarre to drive for about 20 miles along a single track road in a very remote part of the Highlands and suddenly see this vast structure. If you look at the map Loch Quoich is within about four miles of the sea (Loch Hourn) on the west coast yet this water will eventually find its way, much of it via initial hydro electric intervention, to Loch Garry, the River Garry, Loch Oich, The River Oich, Loch Ness, The River Ness and finally in to the sea at Inverness on the east side of the country.
