Winter light over the leg'o'mutton

Squished against the side of the Thames in Barnes is this little wildlife haven called the leg'o'mutton reservoir. Saved by the locals from being sold off by Thames water to developers to be turned into another riverside wall of glass and concrete.

Now a quiet haven of wildfowl, kingfishers, herons and cormorants. Gangs of tits in the scrub and the occasional Cetti warbler shriek from deep in the reeds.
