Fiona and Quique

Arrived safely back home in Barcelona this afternoon at 4pm to a beautiful sunny day. Our Air France overnight to Paris leg wasn't great, with very little space on an old small plane and with the on-flight entertainment system only working for the last 45 mins of the 11 hour flight. Not a lot of sleep was had for either of us! However, the food was actually fine and we arrived safely, as did our bags. A few hours later we were meeting very dear friends Fiona and Quique for tapas in Monchos. Fiona's Australian, Quique's Peruvian and they met in Barcelona. Fiona and Bb and I met when we lived in the Sarria barrio in the same little street and had the same landlady. We went to their wedding in Brisbane in 2003 and both of us did a speech as not many wedding guests knew both of them well. Not long after that they moved to live in Brisbane. They're back in Barcelona for the first time in 10 years (with their two children) and tonight was the only time we could meet them. We took up where we'd left off as you can only do with good friends and had a great night at Monchos. Not bad on just 2 hours sleep! They're coming round tomorrow morning for coffee with Quique's mum and the kids. We really need a good night's sleep under our belts now as we have a busy day tomorrow with one thing and another and I hope my sneezing, runny nose and eyes have stopped by then....positive mental attitude.
