FIREWEED
A beautiful spindly plant with striking red purple flowers.
Hardly seems deserving of the word, "weed".

Thriving in clearings and burned out areas.
It's one of the first plants to appear after a forest or brush fire.
Adding much needed color to the charred land.

TWO AFTERNOONS OF RAIN - Yippeeee.
One-half inch yesterday, and more this afternoon.

Tabasco and I took off for our walk with threatening clouds overhead.
The sky burped and growled during our entire walk.
The last quarter mile we were pelted with cold raindrops.
Being soaked never felt so good.
I almost broke out into "Singing in the Rain", however, I don't sing.

As we got closer to home, ominous booms of thunder and flashes of lightning were a little unsettling.
