Water slide.

What do you do when there are kids to occupy and the temperature is above 40C?
Why of course, you rush around like an idiot, lugging bales of straw, pegging down tarpaulins, create buckets of soapy water, and then invite them to start sliding!

We made a small pool /dam for the water, which was lovely to splosh around in.

I wore a hat, I drank lots of water, we simply had to keep resting on the cool, but by evening, I was pretty sick with mild heat stroke.
How did those petticoated Victorian pioneers cope in Australia ? A question I have pondered many times.
