'Interesting' evening...

Called in to the petrol station after work to put some diesel in the car and, much to my horror, when I tried to replace the cap on the fuel tank, it refused to go back on, and the car key was well and truly stuck in the cap. Aargh! Don't panic!

Paid for the diesel, and the lady in the kiosk kindly summoned help. Thankfully, before the help arrived, I spotted a VERY tiny catch on the inside the cap which proved to be a release mechanism. Very relieved! Drove home though TORRENTIAL rain.

Luckily, soon after arriving I looked at Facebook, to discover a post from a friend and fellow Morris dancer announcing that our team would be performing this evening. Performing?! I thought it was a normal practice evening...

Trawled through the back emails to discover that we were, indeed, due to perform for the Allanton Rural's (Scottish Women's Institute) 80th birthday celebrations - and needed to arrive 15mins earlier than usual. While MrM walked the dogs I cooked a hasty meal, we bolted it down, I delved in the bottom of the wardrobe to find my kit and MrM - who plays in the Morris 'band' - drove us up to Allanton.

Had we realised that there would be a fabulous buffet supper (enough food to feed a small army!), we wouldn't have bothered with our meal but, hey ho, it was a fun evening in the end!
