Buste d'Ary Scheffer

Ary Scheffer is a Dutch Romantic Painter born in Dordrecht 1795 and died in France1858 where he is burried at the Cimetière de Montmartre in Paris.  

He became a reknowned society painter in France also favoured by the French Royals

This buste of Ary Scheffer made by Pierre Jules Cavelier in Carrare Marble in 1849 has been displayed for many years in Ary's former house in the Rue Chaptal 16 in Paris where 'the Musée de la Vie Romantique' is currently located.  

Nowadays it can be seen in the Dordrecht Museum (The Netherlands) where I took this picture.
