Low pass

Have spent most of last night and today searching the web for photos of ancient aeroplanes using the plane registration numbers. Amazing what you can find and the dedication of plane spotters . Want the photos to do some more back bliping, using old documents I have lying around. Found a couple of spotters photos of son J's hot air balloon but couldn't find a great photo he had sent me a year or so ago. Hopefully he still has it as I fear my Notebook harddrive failure last year took the photo down with it.

Did manage to get out for a short time, determined to try and get some more practice with th camera before attempting this weeks photo project of white on white/black on black. Am finding the results others displaying really very depressing. Most seem to have gone for indoor still life photos which makes sense but my overall theme is my animals and I would like to crack the challenge of unpredictable outdoor shots.

Not yet enough snow but at least enough for a bit of messing about. The very strong wind made it even more difficult. Just seen that the Weather Office has issued a warning for drifting in our area tonight.

Was just about to give up when the above scene of the geese happened. The camera should have been on Auto but I had just before set it to a high speed and was quite surprised when reviewing the photos on PC. No comment to the light/speed etc etc but simply liked the four flight positions - fifth goose was out of shot, probably the heaviest! Photo is heavily cropped.

Wish all a great, peaceful weekend.
