Sculpture on the beach

In to Berwick on the bus again this morning - sheet ice on the roads (too much water for gritting to be effective) around Wooler and the pavements resembled treacherously uneven ice rinks!

MrM picked me up from work and, before getting the supermarket shopping over with, we took the dogs for a walk on Spittal beach. A HUGE amount of wood  (everything from large trees to tiny twigs) on the tideline - washed down the Tweed in the recent storms. Lots of people helping the Council out collecting firewood, some of them with chain saws to tackle the larger pieces. The extra shows MrM next to the remains of a large tree trunk.

Someone had been busy and constructed this rather nice driftwood sculpture!

Home to a lovely meal courtesy M&S's dine in for 2 for £10 - I shall be opening the 'free' bottle of red soon as we slump in front of the TV. So glad it's the weekend - been a very hard week at work...
