Best paper, presentation, and poster prizes

At the end of the conference today three prizes were awarded for the best paper, best '5 minute madness' presentation and best poster. They all came to us!

Frances collected the award for best paper. This was selected prior to the conference on the basis of anonymous peer review. Frances also won the prize for best '5 minute madness' presentation at the conference, as assessed by the conference committee at the event itself. (ReliantRobin blipped Frances in action today.) Iris' poster - blipped yesterday - was judged the best following a vote by conference delegates.

The actual prizes were Waterman pens and Amazon gift vouchers. I was so excited that my PhD students had done so well that it was a while before I realised that I had a share in the best paper prize: I was its co-author. (We can also claim a fourth prize - Frances and John were in the team that won the quiz at the conference dinner last night.)

We returned to Edinburgh on a complete high after a very interesting and successful couple of days.

Exercise today: airport walking (6,711 steps)
