The land fell away

A village a few miles up the road from me is currently in the news for having had rain on every one of the last 81 days.and I've no reason to think it's any different where I am.

Today it didn't rain!! In fact it was sunny most of the time. I took the opportunity for a walk along the coast  to see one of the consequences of the deluge: a landslip where the seaward side of the  path has  fallen away. The result is a gash like a wound that has exposed bone and muscle (rock and earth) and carried away skin and hair (turf and bushes) with it. It's not a serious injury though. The cliff will heal and stabilize, plants will re-grow and the path will be re-routed further back.
