Clearly Erik Truffaz is a disciple of Miles Davis, combining cool and bop in the course of his twenty-plus years of career. His style features the mastery of sustained notes and the art of silence. Knowing when to stop playing when you're the leader of a quartet is really important - I think. I'm discovering him in more depth and I really love the things he does.
