Stanley Hollis V.C.

CSM Stanley E. Hollis of the Green Howards/Yorkshire Regiment was the only British serviceman to be awarded the Victoria Cross on D-Day, June 6 1944.
Sadly, his gallant actions were almost unrecognised in his home town of Middlesbrough.
A memorial was recently unveiled on 25th November 2015 outside the Dorman Museum by the war memorial in Middlesbrough to rectify this oversight.
The statue was sculpted by Brian Alabaster.
There are a couple of extras, as I couldn't decide which was the best one to include.
