Bedford to Hitchin

Took the dogs for a nice long walk this afternoon along the old railway track that used to be the Bedford to Hitchin line before Beeching got his way!

This section is the bit that goes from just outside Cardington village all the way to the bottom of the hill where it meets Old Warden tunnel / nature reserve.

Turned and came back! You can't get through the tunnel these days (unless of course you know where the holes in the bricked up mouth entrance are) but the other end of the tunnel is about 3/4 mile along and under the road, just at the end of the garden where I used to live!!
