Man and Machine

Nowadays when cyborgs are everywhere, few remember the time when machines and humans were separate and distinct. Initially, a few components were used to replace or augment. It became fashionable to have human hair follicles implanted. And then it was discovered that human fingertips gave a greater density of neural endings than normal, electro-mechanical ones. It is now common to have biological kidneys plumbed into the fluid filtration system or to retrieve data using a neural interface from homo sapiens.

Some still argue that the mechanical purity of the race has been compromised but most are happy to view the world through the rapidly-focusing lenses of their human eyes.
