Should Have Gone to Weight-Watchers

I have read about the uncommonly fat squirrels that are around this autumn but I hadn't seen one for myself - - - until now.

It is supposedly the result of the squirrel's instinct to fatten up in autumn in order to see them through lean times ahead.  Unfortunately, the lean times haven't arrived yet and the unseasonably warm weather has meant a glut of food has been available for them.

EXTRA
I couldn't let you escape without adding a really interesting 'extra'.

How many of you have ever seen a moorhen at a bird feeder?  I thought not.  This series was taken from the bird hide at Kinghorn Loch this afternoon.  For years, moorhens have paraded under the feeders gathering up the spillage from above.  This one seems to have worked out where the manna was coming from and figured out how to make it happen more frequently.
First it climbed the tree (no, it didn't fly up) and eyed up the feeder.
Then it took hold of the base and tilted it to cause spillage,
Finally it flew down to reap its rewards.
Genius.
