Final Straw

Thatched roofs are often finished with straw finials, to denote the thatcher, or the owner. Apparently this was a West Country tradition, but can be spotted all over the place now on thatched houses. This is not the best local example by any means but I quite like these owl shapes. Other popular figures are peacocks cockerels dogs etc.
