Mono Monday Challenge: Tradition

For the second anniversary of the Mono Monday challenge host Osuzanna has chosen the theme 'Tradition'. Hopefully, these boats moored on the Grand Union Canal fit the bill; they are traditional narrowboats that are designed to fit the British canal systems. They cannot be more than 7ft wide or they would not fit through the systems of locks, and they have a flat bottom with no keel to cope with the shallow water. Traditionally they would have been working boats hauling freight and pulled by horses but nowadays they are mainly holiday boats and powered by diesel engines.
