It's finally got cold with a touch of frost on the leaves and a nice clear sky. It's also back to the routine now that Christmas and New Year are out of the way: +2/3 off to gymnastics this morning, +1/2 and +2/3 off to Enfield this afternoon so +3/3 helped me wash the motorbike while +1/3 was in his room doing homework and being ill.

+1/3 started nursery when he was 6 months old; we were both working and with no family on hand it was the only option. We found pretty quickly that when the wee ones start young they tend to spend the first year and a half catching everything going (all those toys being chewed by all of the children...) until finally, by the time they get to 2, they're absolutely immune to everything. And so it was with +1/3: he's never ill.

Until this morning that is.

He must have picked up a wee bug during his lifesaving course last night which led to a slight temperature and a headache. Did we hear about it? Oh yes, and how. You'd have thought his leg had been bitten off by a particularly angry badger the way he was carrying on. But then, +1/2 pointed out that he's probably so unused to being ill that having a headache is a new experience for him. Awwwww...
