Foodie's choice

No hiding my face — I am an incorrigible foodie!   Followers of my Blips or FaceBook  pages will readily acknowledge that food in whatever form, figures prominently in my online posts.
Yet for all the exotic dishes and appetising French of Italian offerings, to my mind there’s nothing quite as inviting as the roast chicken, straight out of the oven and ready to serve.
We have tried all the variations, well, a good number at least, and as appealing as many of them are, I defy you to beat the appearance of the straightforward roast chicken from the oven, even perhaps when you are careful about what you eat for dietary reasons.
I readily admit that I am always content to spend time in the kitchen, and the more variations on a theme that I can find, the happier I am.  I am more than happy to experiment with food, to come up with my own dishes, original or not.  And of course, when it comes to eating out there will always be firm favourites on menus, but of choice I love to explore new dishes, be they Asian, European or some of the most unlikely sounding dishes I have seen on restaurant menus.
On the face of it, whoever would contemplate eating snails, or frogs legs?  I love them!

But when you come down to earth, is there anything more homely, more mouth-watering than the appearance of a freshly roast chicken straight from the oven?  Apart from breakfast — full English, perhaps?
