Aesthetically Transgressed Surface

I am quite interested in the ways which the surface can be transgressed, sometime this is in a more aesthetic manner as above, at other times it is in a more problematic manner, as here.

I think that graffiti can, as above, add something to the surrounding environment, this is colourful and quite pleasing to the eye, at least to mine. But the moronic scrawlings of so many neds, sorry I can't call them artists - they're not - is just dowright ugly, boring and adds nothing to either the environment or the surface on whic they are scrawled.
