Being creative - #1

There are some wonderful Blipfoto challenges around at the moment. Today saw the launch of the "SeeUs" project where we can submit entries reflecting the theme of the year of Creative Scotland, which is the current way our tourism and creative arts bodies are being encouraged to work together to make new experiences and events for visitors.

At home today, keeping out of the rain, my daughter was busy on a project to create some new artwork for her bedroom. The canvasses which we made years ago to match the curtains in her bedroom have been given a fresh coat of acrylic paint (the leftovers from decorating) and are now being given a new treatment.

She found the method by watching videos on YouTube.

Wax crayons are glued to the canvas, then with the use of a heat gun (or heat gun), you melt the wax to form patterns.

This photo shows her first attempt at a rainbow effect.
