Flower Spider

This flower spider was on yarrow flowers, grasping legs outstretched, waiting for an unsuspecting small fly or bee to come for nectar. Her eyes seem to point in all directions. She is 5mm long, belongs to the Diaea species, and is also called a crab spider.

I went to the city to do my shopping, the first time this year. It was hot in Christchurch, and when the sun came out it was sizzling. I came home without completing what I had set out to do. When I arrived home the tomatoes in the greenhouse were wilting and withering. They’d had a good watering last night.
