Stromness Bookshop

With a personalised book token I couldn’t resist the lure of the Stromness Bookshop any longer.  Size for size it is potentially the best bookshop in the UK (for those folk that remember bookshops).  It is very small (not enough room to swing a thesaurus) but is packed to the gunwales.  Tam’s policy is to ensure that you’ll find books you would never find with an internet search.  It is pure serendipity.  So next time you are in Stromness do yourself a favour.  Then pop around to the Bay Leaf Deli or start your read at Julia’s.

For ‘Bookspine’ MacInnes (who bides just outside Fort Augustus) I bought:

Ill Met by Moonlight
The first edition of Orkney Stoor
Terror in the Arctic
