Cinque Terre

There's five villages along the coast of Italy that are linked together by train, paths and boat routes, and it's very popular with American tourists. Unfortunately they had extreme flooding (the street of one village became and 8 foot deep river) last year, but they're redoing it and you can still walk some of the routes. All 5 villages are beautiful and have a distinctive feel from each other, and I'd recommend visiting them if you're in Italy.
